Controlling the plane in the Island Flyover game in Wii Sports Resort is easy. You just tilt the remote up, down and side to side to go in the direction you want. Finding and flying through all of the Points of Interest or I-Points, however, can be quite tricky. It would be impossible to get to all of them within the five-minute time period of each flight, but the game keeps track of which ones you've been to so you can accumulate all 80.
Downtown
When you fly in daytime, you take off from just south of the town and it's right in front of you. Here you can find the Basketball Courts, Bowling Alley, Broken Clock Tower, Wishing Fountain and Starboard Harbor. In the immediate vicinity are the Swordplay Arena, Queen Peach luxury liner and Runner's Circle.
Follow the Road
An asphalt road circles the island. Follow it counter-clockwise from town to hit the Red Iron Bridge, Palm Boulevard and the Cocoba Hotel. Behind the hotel are the Pool Patio and Tennis Courts. Continue along the road through Island Loop Tunnel 1 and then come to the Mysterious Ruins. The Entrance to the Mysterious Ruins and the Cliffside Ruins are there, but are separate I-Points.
To the left as you continue is a grove below road level called Cabana Lagoon. Dip down to get its I-Point, then go back up and continue through Island Loop Tunnel 2. Ahead on the left is the Wind Orchard and the Hillside Cabins, then ahead is The Candle lighthouse. Finish the circumnavigation at Sundown Point just east of the lighthouse.
Around the Grassy Area
On the south half of the island, follow the stream that runs north to the Footbridge, and then to Summerstone Falls. Its I-Point is higher up. To the west of the falls is the Weathered Monument. Then follow the dirt path through the tunnel which is the Beginner's Archery Area.
Fellow Flyers
It'll be easy to spot the blimp, which is known as the Whale Shark. Also flying around is Miguel's Guide Plane. If you shoot off your flare by pressing the "1" button, Miguel will respond with another flare so you can find him. Catching up with his I-point as he constantly dips and turns, however, is one of the more challenging aspects of the game. On the bright side, if you follow him he'll eventually lead you past all of the I-Points.
Fly over the water west of town and look for a group of planes flying in formation. This is the Seaplane Team. Catching up with them and getting their I-Point is not as difficult as getting Miguel's.
The Beach Area
On the east side of the island is a large peninsula of beaches and mesas. Here you'll find Camel Rock, Sugarsand Beach, Starry Beach and the Frisbee Dog Park. Up on the large mesa is Fireworks Launch Zone 2, and next to the mesa is a thin strip of sand called Sweet Beach.
Through the Tunnels
Fly into the tunnel behind the Weathered Ruins to get to Stillwater Grotto. You're almost certain to crash a few times in getting to it, but no worries; you'll simply be repositioned outside for another try.
Behind the waterfall is another tunnel, leading to the Heart of Maka Wuhu. If you continue through this tunnel to the other side of the mountain and head to the right you'll find Dead End Point.
Halfway up the mountain on the south side is the entrance to the Lava Tube. Fly through it, and as you exit you'll hit Silk Sands.
On the east side of the mountain along the paths you'll see the Lone Cedar. Enter the tunnel behind it to get to the Lava Monument, then head straight up out of the volcano's cone to get the Maka Wuhu I-Point.
From the north side of the island, fly low over the water toward the ruins area. Here's another tunnel entrance, called Serpent's Mouth. Fly inside to get the Sea Serpent Cavern I-Point. As you exit, the Needlepoint Spire will be in front of you.
The Heights
On the upper part of the grassy area on the east, near the hotel, is the Toppled Monument. To the south of that is Heartbreak Peak along the dirt path, and Hilltop Overlook. Following around to the west you'll see the Swinging Bridge, which leads to the area of Talon Rock, the Forest Monument and Evergreen Grove. At the back of Evergreen Grove is an alternate tunnel entrance to the aforementioned Stillwater Grotto.
On the next level up you'll find Duckling Lake and Summerstone Castle. Behind the castle is Cedar Tree Tunnel. If you follow along these upper mountain paths you'll encounter the Mountain Hikers, the Off-Road Vehicle and the Mountain Monument.
Surrounding Waters
In the ocean just southwest of town, look for a cruiser towing a number of balloons. This is the Sea Caddy. Circling the island counter-clockwise, you'll find an island which is Fireworks Launch Zone 1. Nearby is the Beginner's Wakeboarding Area. Cross over the peninsula to the north to find the Power Cruising Area. North from there is an arch called Gateway to Wuhu. To the west from there are the Whale Watchers boats, then the Deserted Island and the Private Island. Right next to the Private Island on the north side is the Diving Area.
Continue around to Barnacle Arch, then go through the Pirate's Eye, a gap in the cliff below the lighthouse.
The Trip to Wedge Island
Wedge Island is the relatively large island to the southwest of Wuhu. On the way there, look for a group of boats which are the Undersea Cable Inspectors, and another group at the Sport Fishing Spot. Aim toward the large balloon floating over the water, and you'll find the lonely little Extreme Canoeist.
At the island you'll find the Wedge Island Marina; Golf Areas A, B and C; Crab Rock, and the Nineteenth Hole Hotel.
